I had the most amazing stay at Rock Gate Resort in Sigiriya. The treehouse view was absolutely breathtaking, with a stunning panorama of both Lionrock and Pidurangala. Waking up to the sunrise shining on my face was a truly unforgettable experience. The treehouse itself was comfortable and cozy, with a good mosquito-net and a beautiful sound background of nature. I loved having my own bathroom up there, adding to the convenience and privacy of my stay. The host family was incredibly sweet and helpful, going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. They even arranged for me to borrow bicycles to explore the area and had a tuktuk friend available for transportation. The food prepared by their chef friend was mouthwateringly delicious. From the warm hospitality to the comfortable amenities, Rock Gate Resort truly felt like a home away from home. I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely be returning when I visit Sri Lanka again.

Located close to Lion Rock and Pidurangala, this homestay offers simple and clean accommodation with good aircon and shower. the hosts provide traditional breakfasts and meals and can arrange to use a nearby hotel pool. Set in the jungle, you may hear the sounds of nature. Bicycles and tuk-tuks are also available to rent.

The language barrier may be an issue when communicating with the hosts, whose English skills are limited.

During my transit in Sigiriya, I stayed at Rock Gate Resort. The location of this hotel was extremely convenient as it is only 9 km away from the nearest airport. the resort offers a roundtrip airport shuttle service, making it easy for travelers to reach the accommodation without any hassle.

I must mention that one minor negative feature of the resort was the limited privacy in the room assigned to me. Unfortunately, my room was situated right at the front of the house, which meant I couldn't open the curtains without feeling exposed.

The hospitality was amazing. The family running the hotel were welcoming and attentive to my every need. They provided free bikes to explore the area, and the owner even showed me around his garden. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean with an amazing view of the surrounding jungle. The breakfast provided was traditional and delicious.

Nothing to complain about at all.

The food was acceptable and the room was well maintained. the surrounding area was peaceful and the host was helpful in arranging our transport from the airport. the views of the natural scenery were breathtaking and the climate was comfortable.

The New Year celebration was mediocre at best, with no real festivity or atmosphere. There was no organized entertainment and the host didn't seem to put any effort into setting the mood for the occasion.

I had a wonderful stay at Rock Gate Resort in Sigiriya, where I stayed for a few days to explore the area. The highlight of my stay was definitely the tree house, which had an amazing view of Pidurangala and Lion's Rock. The location was also perfect, just a short drive away from Sigiriya.

Awesome view in a great location within easy reach of city buzz - and unexpected luxuries, like the clean pool and comfortable beds with quality bedding. Staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area and gave good advice on what to do and see.

The facilities were a bit run down, and the minibar was poorly stocked. The air conditioning unit was temperamental and didn't work properly, so the room was hot and stuffy.

The location of the hotel was also great, surrounded by the beautiful jungle and offering a fantastic view of the Lion Rock. I loved waking up to the sounds of nature and even had the incredible opportunity to spot an elephant in the garden! Additionally, the breakfast served was delicious and filling, with the added bonus of being able to enjoy the view of the Lion Rock while eating. this hotel provided excellent value for money with its attention to detail, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and breathtaking views.

And let me tell you about the breakfast – it was absolutely delicious, especially when enjoyed with a breathtaking view of Lion Rock. The coconut roti and sambal were to die for! I can't recommend a stay at this hotel enough.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Sigiriya. The first thing that caught my attention was the incredible value for money. The prices were very reasonable for what was offered. The attention to detail was also impressive. The room was exceptionally clean and the beds were the most comfortable I've slept in during my entire trip. The staff were friendly and always available when needed. The location of the hotel was perfect, with great views of Lion Rock from the rooms and the garden dining area. And speaking of breakfast, it was a delight to enjoy a delicious meal with a view over Lion Rock. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
